Wow it’s been HELLAS since I’ve written anything here! So much has happened and I didn’t realize I was still grieving the loss of my beautiful friend, Sham! Who knew that while still trying to confront all those feelings that came to head, the world would experience a pandemic.
2020 turned out to be a year that will definitely go down in the history books as “What the Fuck? Humans will Forever be Trash, Especially Americans!” Solely because all of a sudden wearing a mask to protect the spread of Covid is against your inalienable rights! Karma showed up hella fast for many people saying that dumb shit and took them out. Unfortunately, we lost and still continue to lose so many people as we are still living in the middle of a pandemic.
I have been blessed and fortunate to be able to work this entire pandemic and sustain all while creating a cute candle line but I have to be honest, I’m exhausted and drained. Trying to navigate a workspace where the people around you are careless is stressful enough but during a pandemic, it has been a different tier of “I wanna knock you the fuck out, but I need this job!”
I’ve also experienced loss of friendships during the pandemic as well. It’s funny how people turn you into the villain when you set boundaries and no longer serve them at the level they need. It’s fine, I’ll be the villain. I will still sleep well knowing I did right by you and tried to help you at all cost.
There have also been TONS of wins! My dear brother-friend Tahir Moore featured me on what I thought was just going to be a zoom call, NOT! Turns out this zoom invite turns into “Zooming With The Homies” which was one of the dopest things that happened during quarantine. I made so many amazing new friends, including CT Thomas who would go on to feature me on his game show “Would You Rather?!” Honestly, Tahir was one of my saving graces because I would’ve went mad!
Seeing Tahir’s work ethic and him push through this hard time, pushed me to create my podcast, “Whiskey Soured: Libations and Conversations” which as been a crazy fun experience. We literally drink and have dope conversation.
Towards the end of 2020, I was hit up to co-host on another podcast in the making and we all became “4 The Hard Way” it consists of Nya, Jill, myself and Shatarra. 4 personalities taking on today’s pop culture and it’s been amazing and of course some viewers are in their feelings but oh well lol.
Lord, send The Rapture cause it’s ghetto down here and please forgive all my sins because I’m trying to enter those heavenly gates.
